BBIS Online Sharing Community

All about the BBIS Online Learning Platform

  • Who: All students from Year 1 to MYP 3, all subjects.

  • Why: To ensure that students at BBIS have access to guided education, maintain routine and still get to practice personal skills in collaboration and communication. Even when access to school is not possible.

  • Where: Students can work anywhere (except school) with access to a device with internet, camera and microphone. Most tablets, laptops and even smartphones have these built in.

  • When: A revised school timetable will be sent via email to parents and, where appropriate, students, stating which online classrooms they need to attend at which times of the day.

  • How: Students will interact with their peers and teachers in an online meeting room, via the software Google Meet (a step by step tutorial can be found below). Teachers will have prepared activities for the students and will use the online meeting room to clarify instructions and to share feedback. Students may be required to access other online resources as part of the set activities. Examples of such online resources can be found by looking at the teachers page of this website.

What can you do to help?

  • Make sure child(ren) have access to the internet and a device at home with a browser (any device with a browser, preferably Chrome), a camera and a microphone (most devices have these built in)

  • To help maximise online-safety, please make sure your child does these online lessons in a communal space in the house, not alone in their bedrooms.

  • Parent and/or student (depending on age) can check email during normal school days for updates. Most problems can be clarified through contact with the teacher in their Online Meeting Room

  • Parent/Guardian of primary school children could support their child(ren) in completing lessons/assignments/challenges digitally and making sure they complete the assigned work. MYP students should have the skills to be independent.

  • Parents and students can contact teachers and technology support (chris.graham@bbis.hu) via email during regular school hours if they have questions or need support.
